Schoolyard Habitats Students are working in small groups to research animal habitats. Each group has a specific animal habitat to study. As a group they will make a poster to hang in the hallway and make a habitat project to place on school campus. Projects include bird feeders, toad abodes, butterfly feeders, etc. Individually the students will sketch an animal habitat from our school campus. We will take a field trip to the Crowley's Ridge Nature Center to expand our knowledge on habitats. UPDATE: The students did a great job learning about their animal's habitat. They showed such excitement wen they were given the opportunity to share their presentations with the class. |

Natural Disasters We did a unit on natural disasters. The students researched different types of natural disasters and created presentations about them. The created supplies kits, went on a trip to KAIT to see how the weather is reported (had lunch at Dairy Queen), created natural disasters of their own (volcanoes and tornadoes in bottles) and practiced emergency drills at home and school. |
