- August 29-Sept. 2---Understanding multiplication using arrays, groups of, and repeated addition
- Sept. 6- Sept. 9 --- Determining the unknown in a division problem using groups of, size of groups, and arrays
- Sept. 12-16--- Commutative property of multiplication, skip counting using arrays, finding related multiplication facts by adding and subtracting equal groups in arrays
- Sept. 19-23--- Use distributive property of multiplication with arrays to decompose units. Complete review packet for test (Test Wednesday)
- Sept.26-Oct. 21-- Continue working on word problems using the four operations. Solving division word problems involving groups or groups of. End of module assessment.
- Oct 24-28- How to use a stopwatch, telling time to the minute, using a time line to assist telling time. Practice multiplication facts with drills and partner work.
- Oct. 31- Nov. 4--- Telling time to the nearest hour using. Measuring in kilograms.
- Nov.7-11--- Continue practicing telling time. Giving time two different ways looking at digital and analog clocks.
- Nov. 28- Dec. 2---Rounding to the nearest tens and hundreds using a vertical number line.
- Dec. 5-9--Collecting data to create graphs.
- January 16-20--Line plots and picture graphs ----TEST ON FRIDAY
- January 23--27--Understanding Area
- January 30- February 3-- Use unit squares to determine area of rectangles, create rectangles based on number of unit squares
- February 6-10-- Mid-Module assessment review----quiz on Thursday
- February 13-17-- Using the distributive and associative properties to determine area of a rectangle.
- February 20-24--Solving word problems involving area
- March 27-31-- ACT Aspire practice/review.........fractional parts of a whole
Smart Beads
Each time a students makes an A on an assignment in math/science they place it in a safe place. Once they have collected 5 they can turn them in for a pair of smart beads. Students are responsible for keeping up with their own papers. Each assignment can only be used once towards a pair of smart beads. |

Mathemagic Show Field Trip The 3rd and 4th grades took a field trip to the Fowler Center to watch a Mathemagic show. It was educational and fun! We enjoyed lunch at Pizza Inn after the show. Thank you to the Children's Endowment for providing this opportunity. |
